ABOUT ME
JENNIFER KILE, LMFT
LICENSED MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPIST
CA 123167 | NV 3314-R
After earning my bachelor’s degree in Business Management from CSU Sacramento and a teaching credential from UC Davis, I was an elementary educator for 10 years. Around this time, I began doing my own self-reflection and personal work in therapy, leading me to return to graduate school and obtain a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of San Francisco. I now maintain a small private practice in South Lake Tahoe where I help others on their healing journeys.
I have advanced training in:
-
Brainspotting
-
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT)
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
-
Mindfulness and Self-Compassion
WHY I BECAME A THERAPIST
As I learned more about myself, through my own therapy, and began letting go of beliefs and thoughts that no longer served me, I gained a hopeful strength and belief in myself. Excitement grew when I considered the possibility to be that supportive and attuned presence for others on their journeys. I firmly believe in the inner wisdom innate in every human being, and one of the great joys of supporting you on your healing journey is witnessing the process as you remember your innate wisdom.
WHAT THERAPY WITH ME LOOKS LIKE
It is important for me to create a safe space for you to explore all parts of yourself with dignity and respect, honoring your truest and wisest self. I don’t see myself as an expert on your life, rather, as a supportive collaborator who can help guide and witness your story with warmth, authenticity, and compassion.
Throughout our time together, I may incorporate:
-
Mindfulness exercises
-
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) strategies
-
Self-Compassion guided reflections
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
-
Journal Prompts
-
Brainspotting
WHY A NAUTILUS?
Like the nautilus, we find ourselves outgrowing ways of thinking, believing and being and have opportunity to grow forward, upward and outward, while integrating all parts of ourselves.
